Advisory board debate: national and local control

As properly wet autumn weather set in, there was no good news on the coronavirus front. Cases and hospitalisations climbed rapidly, as Scotland set out plans for ‘circuit breaker’ restrictions and England floated the idea of a three-stage local lockdown system.

There were some big announcements in the health tech space, with Apple launching Health Records, Greater Manchester picking Sectra, and Guys and St Thomas’ becoming the latest mega-trust to go with Epic. Meanwhile, the Highland Marketing advisory board discussed the tension between national and local control of NHS IT; and how it could be resolved.
