NHS England and NHS Improvement announced a joint leadership team and named directors for their five new regions. The Scottish Government found additional cash for the NHS in its Budget, but was told by doctors it would not be enough to make a significant difference. Health and social care secretary Matt Hancock issued a press release announcing that he was banning NHS trusts from buying fax machines from January and that he expected the NHS to go ‘fax free’ by April 2020.
