The UK death toll for hospital and care home patients with a positive test for Covid-19 passed 45,000 as the NHS Test and Trace programme faced further turmoil. Yet attention was shifting to the elements of the Covid-19 response that should be retained in a ‘new normal’.
NHSE/I indicated that the old funding regime may be gone for good, while NHS Providers issued a guide to digital leadership for boards. The RCGP called for IT investment for GPs, and hospitals shifted to a ‘call before you walk’ model for A&E. And Bradford issued an ambitious digital strategy to support new ways of working and integrated care.
