The NHS is looking at steps to close its gender pay gap, after finding that a disproportionate number of men hold senior and consultant roles and a disproportionate number of women are nurses and low-paid workers. The bonus gap at some trusts is eyewatering. In other data news, NHS England has concluded that some trusts skewed their A&E performance figures by including walk-in centres, but this had little impact on the overall picture, and new figures from NHS Digital show that the number of obesity-related hospital admissions continues to rise. In tech news, the 111 service will be rolled out in Wales and the EPS will be extended to out-of-hours and urgent care centres in England.
