Scotland published the Bill that will enable the creation of its radical National Care Service, to try and end the postcode lottery of social care, and encourage greater integration with the NHS. Opposition parties and unions condemned the move.
In England, the government took a different tack to health and care integration, and announced yet another round of pilot projects, focused on facilitating discharge from hospital.
