The NHS was drawn into the escalating political drama around Brexit, as the government scrapped its planned comprehensive spending review in favour of a mini-budget and promised NHS legislation in the Queens Speech that will be held after Parliament comes back from its prorogation in October. Unions used the Brexit focus to warn about the impact of a no-deal on medicine supplies.
