Despite local lockdowns, the NHS in England and Scotland continued to emerge from the first phase of the response to the coronavirus crisis by announcing plans to resume non-Covid activity and keep the virus in check. The Scottish Government announced that it would be joining Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland in running an Apple/Google model contact tracing app.
Papers in England reported that the UK government has given up on a contact tracing app for England, although a local risk level app may be launched later this month. In other news, our advisory board debated the important topic of digital inclusion.
