NHS England’s Health and Social Care Expo took place in Manchester. The commissioning board outlined the next steps on the development of what is now called the long-term plan for the NHS, and asked for stakeholder and public input. Health and social care secretary Matt Hancock renewed his commitment to get interoperable systems in place across the NHS, and announced an additional £200 million for the global digital exemplar programme. Further announcements included the launch of a new code of conduct for companies using NHS data and trials of the NHS App in five areas. A full report will appear in next week’s newsletter.
