The UK Covid-19 Inquiry continued its work, with public health experts arguing that austerity weakened the population and public health services, and members of the Cameron administration denying that they’d left the country in a worse state to face the pandemic than it could have been in.

NHS England awarded another contract to controversial US data firm Palantir, and finally appointed a new chief information officer – John Quinn, a digital leader from NHS Digital and the MHRA. The Sussex Pathology Network announced it will deploy a laboratory information system from Clinisys. And the government announced a “ringfenced”, £21 million pot for diagnostic AI.
