NHS Blood and Transplant issued an alert over critically low blood stocks, as health authorities urged those eligible to come forward for Covid-19 and flu vaccinations to try and ward off a ‘twindemic’ this winter. The Cabinet Office moved to exert extra grip on NHS spending on IT and capital projects while trusts pushed ahead with smaller programmes to roll-out apps to patients.
